Revitalising South Windsor Town Centre

The council is excited to announce that works on revitalising South Windsor Town Centre start today!

This exciting project will see significant improvements made to George Street, from Campbell Street to Beerewan Park, and Mullinger Lane, to attract more visitors and improve their experience.

Surveyors will be active in the town centre this week and construction fencing will begin to be set up.

The upgrade includes:
  • Planting of advanced trees in Mullinger Lane and George Street
  • New feature paving and street furniture
  • New refuge islands
  • Upgrade to parking in Mullinger Lane
  • New surfacing, signage and lighting for the pedestrian crossing on George Street

Weather permitting, the works are scheduled to be completed in late 2022.

The $18.75 million revitalisations of Richmond, South Windsor and Windsor town centres is funded by Hawkesbury City Council and the Australian and NSW governments through the Western Sydney City Deal’s Western Parkland City Liveability Fund.

This project is part of the Greening Our City grant program that is proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Local Government NSW.
