Queen’s Birthday Honours Awardee: Marjorie Clarke (OAM)

Marjorie Clarke from Wilberforce has been awarded The Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the recent Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Marjorie or Marj as she is known, has been committed to the growth and long-term sustainability of the Australiana Pioneer Village since 1971 and has given so much of her time and life to the Village. She has now become Patron of the Village due to her work in keeping

Australian history alive and accessible to school children and the general public. The Village cannot thank Marj enough for her invaluable efforts and contribution. Many other similar places have closed due to COVID-19 because they didn’t have someone like Marj with the same commitment and passion to keep it open.

Marj’s amazing love and care for animals is her other outstanding quality – especially her love of horses, but also all the animals we have in The Village. She has her own menagerie at home – from a horse, ducks, wombats and other animals which she calls family – a wonderful trait she has passed onto her two lovely daughters Lisa and Mandy.

Those at the Village are thrilled for Marjorie to receive this special Award.
