Non-stop fun at your local Hills Shire Library

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Councillor Yvonne Keane is encouraging residents to visit their local Hills Shire Library.

Mayor Keane said there were brand new events alongside old favourites which means there’s something for everyone including film and reading clubs, story time, author talks and workshops.

“The library isn’t just a place to borrow books. It’s also a thriving hub of entertainment that really helps to bring the community closer together,” Mayor Keane said.

“My children, Asher and Saskia, love all the activities that the library has to offer and I love that it keeps them entertained while engaging them in proactive learning.

“I am very proud of our libraries and I encourage members to follow The Hills Shire Library Service on social media, visit The Hills Shire Council website or see the friendly library staff for updates on upcoming events and activities.”

Recently, Vinegar Hill and Castle Hill Libraries held a Superhero Storytime for budding young heroes as part of their Summer Reading Club.

In the coming weeks, the local library service will kick-off their annual reading program for Year One students, called Year One Reading Club.

The program encourages school-aged children to delve into the literary world, while encouraging them to get into the habit of regular reading.

To add to the line-up, a Beyond Word Book and Movie Group will meet regularly over the course of the year and various storytimes will be held for kids.

Plus, the Hills Shire Libraries has a large collection of books, e-books, audio books, magazines and e-magazines.
