NEW PLACE TO PLAY ARNOLD AVE, KELLYVILLE

The Hill’s newest playground was given a good workout when it was officially opened on July 24.

Children and parents joined Hills Shire Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne at Arnold Avenue Reserve at Kellyville to declare the new play space ready for action.

It features a double bay swing set with baby and toddlers’ seat, nest swing, climbing hut, double spring perch, speed gyro, and more equipment that is educational, as well as encourages observation and concentration.

“The community has asked for more playgrounds and recreational opportunities and we have listened,” she said.

Hills Shire Council’s 2019-20 capital works program includes more than $15 million investment in parks and recreation facilities [this financial year], said the Mayor.

Work will continue on the playing fields, which are scheduled to be completed in September 2019, with weather permitting. Once completed, Arnold Avenue will include two new fields, a public amenities building, two new netball courts, a playground and a 122-space car park.
