Male, 57, Arrested for High Range Drink Driving
Officers attached to The Hills Police Area Command arrested a 57-year-old male after a positive breath test result and being involved in a collision on Withers Road, North Kellyville, near the intersection of Oxlade Street.
The Hills PAC reported that, on Monday, 23 September, at 7:20 PM, a white Isuzu Table Top Truck collided twice with the rear of a stationary grey Mercedes A2000, which was waiting to turn right at the intersection.
Police were alerted to the incident through the automatic collision alert system of the Mercedes. Officers arrived at the scene at 7:47 PM and observed significant damage to the rear bumper of the Mercedes, which was partially in the oncoming lane.
The Isuzu truck was parked on the left shoulder of Withers Road with no visible damage to its front bull-bar.
Upon approaching the 57-year-old driver of the Isuzu truck, he allegedly admitted to having consumed alcohol.
A roadside breath test returned a positive result, leading to his arrest and transport to Castle Hill Police Station for a breath analysis. The analysis indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.162 grams per 210 litres of breath.
The driver of the Isuzu truck was issued a Notice of Suspension. Additionally, he received a Court Attendance Notice to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday, 7th November 2024, for High Range Drink Driving.
