Alex Hulley Finishes Sixth

Rouse Hill and Australia’s champion Alex Hulley threw 66.26m in the women’s hammer throw to finish sixth, a disappointment after her silver at the 2018 Games. This was below her best of 68.83m at the recent World Athletics Championships.

However, looking back, Hulley, 25, will be pleased with her performances at the World Athletics Championships, where she improved her global rankings and did well at Birmingham despite not winning a medal. One of her two coaches, Karyne di Marco said Hulley has plenty to be proud of at the Games.

“You absolutely gave it your all out there today & I am so proud of you,” Di Marco said. “You have come so far over the past 12 months & turned your world around so hold your head high!” Hulley finished 18th in the world championships after starting the competition in 32nd place.
