Hills United FC have feted three of their NSW League One Women stalwarts Bella Donaldson, Desiree Galea and Kaylie Shannon. The trio are among a rare group to have played 50 first grade games for their club.

Bella, Desiree and Kaylie have always played their hearts out for the team which have set high standards for women’s football in the Hills and across NSW. Last year, Hills United finished runners-up after losing the grand final.

Thanks to the hard work and remarkable ability of these three players and many others in the club, Hills United have built a very strong foundation in women’s football and a pathway to representative football in NSW and Australia.

HILLS GO DOWN FIGHTING
Hills United FC went down fighting to league leaders SD Raiders FC 2-1 winners in their FNSW Women’s One League match at Bella Vista Public School on Sunday afternoon.

Hills United scored first through their sharpshooter Kylie Shannon, playing in her 50th league match, in the 50th minute after a scoreless first half.

Madeleine Malone equalised 11 minutes later for SD Raiders FC after experienced Hills goalkeeper Sarah Easthope had to make two quick saves.

SD Raiders FC grabbed the two points after substitute Sarah Mandile found the nets in the 71st minute. The win took the Raiders to the top of the ladder with 57 points, with Hills United in fifth spot on 47.

Hills United, who began the season in terrific form before sliding a bit down the ladder, are away this Sunday to Marconi Stallions, with kick off at 3pm. Last year’s runners-up are keen to complete the regular season on a high as they eye a place in the finals.
