GILL HEADS TO HOLLYWOOD

Baulkham Hills resident John Gill is heading to Hollywood to run action choreography workshops for actors at the Beverly Hills Karate Academy in October.

Gill was invited to teach self-defence to the Hollywood stars and members of the film industry after winning his 18th and 19th World Martial Arts Championships.

Gill won both the Open and International Blackbelt self-defence events at the recent World Martial Arts Championships in Las Vegas.

Before this, Gill, who is also a Master Instructor in Hapkido under Grandmaster Sung Soo Lee of Cherrybrook, was invited to conduct a week-long Master’s Program to the Solomon Islands.

Hel is the current Australian and world selfdefence champion and winner of 31 martial arts titles, including 19 world championships.

Gill is a 7th Dan black belt master instructor in Hapkido and Taekwondo and was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame as 2016 and 2017 Hapkido Master of the Year and 2017 Black Belt Competitor of the Year.

Master Gill is also the Australian record-holder for the most individual world title wins in Australian sporting history. He is an ambassador for the White Ribbon Foundation for the prevention of violence against women.

“I have always emphasised to my students the philosophy of non-violence, respecting others, politeness, manners and doing the right thing by other people, to develop themselves to their full potential.”

Hills residents are invited to try a free lesson at one of his new taekwondo beginner’s workshops starting in the Hills District between September 14 and September 28.

He says it is his way of giving back to the local community. To find out more email [email protected] or phone or TXT 0490 189 891.
