Enhancing the Arts in the Hawkesbury

Council is currently seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from members of the Hawkesbury community to act as community representatives on the Enhancing the Arts in the Hawkesbury Working Group. Members would need to have a genuine interest in the arts and be able to demonstrate knowledge, expertise and experience in arts projects.

Community members are generally appointed to working groups on the basis of their subject knowledge and experience, technical skills and or their ability to interpret the common interests of residents.

The goal of the Working Group is broad but the initial focus of the working group will be around music sector growth and increased community participation in the arts. It is also proposed that the Working Group will identify a range of projects, each with attainable goals while also encouraging active participation and involvement by the community.

The Working Group will provide constructive advice and practical support and assistance to Council in enhancing the arts in the Hawkesbury, with a particular focus on seeking external funding, facilitating local arts activities and events as well as encouraging audience participation. The Working Group will consist of Councillors, Council staff and five community members.

Meetings are yet to be determined but it is envisaged that the group will meet a minimum of four times per year. This Working Group is to be formed in accordance with the Council resolution No. 133 from the Ordinary Council Meeting on 25 July 2017.

For more information or to obtain an Expression of Interest Form please visit www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au or contact Joanne Russo on (02) 4560 3354. EOIs close 5pm Friday, 29 September 2017.
