THE NEW NORMAL LIFE POST CORONAVIRUS

With the risk of the commentator’s curse, further easing of restrictions makes it time to talk about life post coronavirus. What will the new normal look like? We would be foolish to think we’ll get through with no changes to the way we operate, and how we conduct our daily lives.

If you’re a commercial landlord, you’re probably not feeling too comfortable. People working from home and the business still operated effectively, brings a lot of potential productivity increases, happiness and lifestyle improvements for people. For people with children, it may make it easier for them to manage. Normal illnesses, are made worse through office air conditioning and through the dreaded commute on overcrowded trains and buses full of germy people.

Since not catching a crowded train every day, I haven’t had the winter lurgies because I simply don’t get exposed to them anymore. For businesses, not having staff off sick for extended periods of time should help them. Plus, when you’ve got a foggy brain from a bad cold, you work so much slower and less efficiently than normal!

Before we move out of coronavirus, consider what you have learnt. Consider what you can change in your business for the long-term. Did you go online? Could some of your offering still be online and extend your market from just being local to being nationwide or even global? Whatever happens, we By Jane Tweedy, Western Sydney Business Centre know our lives will be forever changed via lessons learned.
