RENTAL PAYMENTS AND BACK HOME GRANTS NOW OPEN FOR FLOOD AFFECTED HAWKESBURY RESIDENTS.

Hawkesbury residents (Hawkesbury, The Hills and Hornsby local government areas) who have been severely impacted by the June-July 2022 flood, can now apply for rental support payments to help reduce the cost of temporary accommodation.

Under the Rental Support Scheme, eligible flood-affected residents who haven’t been able to occupy their home, can apply for up to 16 weeks rental support.

Residents can now also apply for the Back Home grant which can provide a one-off grant of up to $20,000 for owner-occupiers, $15,000 for landlords and $5,000 for renters, to help with the cost of replacing appliances, reconnecting utilities, fixing roofs, connecting electricity and making other necessary repairs.

Visit the Disaster Recovery Centre at South Windsor (South Windsor Family Centre, 6 Greenhills Way, South Windsor) or at Wisemans Ferry (The Retreat, 5564 Old Northern Rd, Wisemans Ferry) for help in applying.

You can also check your eligibility and apply for the Rental Support Scheme or the Back Home grant online at https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/floods/financial-assistance
