Celebration of Female Football

Hundreds of players and officials in The Hills District and Hawkesbury are taking part in the 2024 Female Football Week, which celebrates the immense popularity of this game at all levels and age groups. The May 3-12 event is organised by Football NSW and acknowledges the crucial role played by women in promoting and supporting the sport.

Football is booming in The Hills with the Hills United men’s team playing in the FNSW NPL league for the first time and the Hills United women’s team setting the pace in the FNSW League One championship.

Football NSW will be hosting a referee training session (Monday, May 6), a coaching workshop (Wednesday, May 8) and a women in sports panel (Friday, May 10) at its headquarters in Valentine Park, Glenwood. All sessions are from 6.30-8pm. For more information on these events, contact the Women, Girls and Schools Coordination Kirsten Prior at [email protected].

There be will plenty of activities throughout the week including the Festival of Football, free skills clinics, female football rounds and ‘come and try’ sessions.

All associations and clubs are invited to register their events with FNSW. Any which is also requesting extraordinary club members who deserve recognition for their contribution to female football.
