Ten Years To Be Celebrated At Community Environment Centre

The Community Environment Centre is celebrating its 10th birthday on Saturday July 30 with a special event at the much-loved Annangrove facility.

The birthday celebrations will include a native wildlife display, environmental stalls, workshops, photo exhibition, a sausage sizzle and more.

Hills Shire Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne said the Environment Centre gave residents the opportunity to learn how to live a more natural lifestyle and become more aware of the natural environment around them.

“The Hills has always been an area that is proud of its natural environment. We are the Garden Shire because we love the natural wonders on our doorstep,” Mayor Byrne said.

“As The Hills grows, it’s important that we maintain that link with our Garden Shire roots and the Environment Centre helps to preserve that.”

“I encourage residents to get down to the tenth birthday celebrations or to attend one of the fantastic workshops, walks or tours that are planned for July, August and September.”

The Community Environment Centre is located on Currie Ave in Annangrove and is open each Thursday from 9.00 am till 4.00 pm.
