Sixteen intersections to be signposted in North Kellyville

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne has announced that Council will install ‘Give Way’ signs and line marking at 16 intersections across North Kellyville as a matter of priority.

The work is designed to prioritise vehicle movements through the intersections, improving road safety in the new release area.

“I’d like to thank the Local Traffic Committee for their efforts in considering and approving this work that is so important to the community of North Kellyville,” Dr Byrne said.

“Council is diligently working through providing all the services and facilities this new community needs – we’ve done a lot and there is more to do in the future,” she said.

“Many people have raised the need for intersection controls in the area – particularly at the intersection of Barry Road, Yango Street and Barool Road. We are also installing ‘No Stopping’ signs at this point to further improve motorists’ line of sight.”

Mayor Byrne said further investigations into the Barry Road, Yango Street and Barool Road intersection are taking place and will be reported to Council in the new year.

“We have listened to the community’s concerns and responded as quickly as we can to address them,” Mayor Byrne said.

“I thank the residents of North Kellyville for bringing this to my attention and I encourage them to keep the lines of communication open,” she said.
