Reconnect with reading

Love reading but just don’t seem to have the time to find a good book? Read all your favourite authors and need some new suggestions? Let Hawkesbury Library Service help you reconnect with reading this winter!

In July and August, the Library is trialling a new book matchmaker service through their website to help you find your next read. Use the online form https://www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/media/forms/reconnect-with-reading to tell us about what books or authors you’ve loved, and we’ll find some other titles you might enjoy!

The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Kim Ford praised the idea.

“People can use the online form to tell library staff about books or authors they have really enjoyed or connected with, and then our staff will help to find other similar titles,” Mayor Ford said.

The Library is also introducing ‘genre stickers’ on the spine of books within their fiction collection to assist borrowers select their next read and to complement the updated reading lists of Hawkesbury Library Service.

The genre stickers include crime, suspense, historical fiction, romance, sci-fi, adventure, horror, westerns, family sagas and fantasy.

“During July, people will notice some great book displays targeting specific genres, so visit the Library where you’re guaranteed to reconnect with reading,” Mayor Ford added.
