Disability Sector Grants – Now Open

The NSW government’s new $19m Disability Sector Scale-Up (DSSU) program will help local businesses make the most of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Business Acceleration grants up to a maximum of $2 million are available to assist businesses scale-up and bring innovative and effective solutions to our disability support sector in the Castle Hill area.

On top of the Grants, the DSSU will provide low cost advisory services for small businesses through Business Connect to help them service the NDIS.

Vocational Education and Training (VET)

NSW has Australia’s the best performing VET sector. Our students, apprentices and trainees are earning while they learn and getting trained for the jobs of the future.

A recent Skilling Australia report showed VET is actually a more certain pathway to employment than university and offers better prospects for higher pay. Some 78% of VET graduates are employed after training versus 69% for university graduates – and, on average, VET graduates also earns $2,000 more.

The NSW Government has done the work over the past three years to overhaul our VET system with Smart and Skilled, which has brought a new era of stability, efficiency and quality. More information: https://vet.nsw.gov.au/

Big Savings on Energy Bills

The NSW Government’s Energy Package Savings Scheme is the nation’s most comprehensive package to address rising energy bills. We understand it is hard to make ends meet when living pressures pile up; and we are doing everything we can to support families and small businesses to save on their power bills. Reforms include a 20% increase on current NSW Government energy rebates; various discounts for small businesses, households and Pension Concession Card holders on energy efficient upgrades; ending unnecessary supplier charges; penalties for retailers who don’t move rebate recipients to a better deal, plus more. Seniors can also access huge reductions in energy costs of up to 25% through a deal we have done with AGL.
