Helping Young People Get A Home
We know how hard it can be to save for a deposit on a first home and want to ensure the great Australian dream is not out of reach for people in NSW. Therefore stamp duty is being abolished for first homebuyers on existing and new homes up to $650,000 and stamp duty discounts on existing homes up to $800,000. Stamp duty on lenders’ mortgage insurance is also being abolished, providing a saving of around $2,900 on an $800,000 property.

Return and Earn
Return and Earn is the largest litterreduction initiative for NSW, and will be a game-changer for the environment. From 1 December 2017 you can exchange eligible drink containers for a 10-cent refund at collection points across the state; including any of the 800 reverse vending machines positioned across NSW.

This is an excellent fundraising opportunity for community organisations, who can collect donated containers from the community, and share in millions of dollars every year from refunding drink containers. This helps reduce potential litter in our environment and supports our local communities. If your organisation would like to get involved visit: https://epa.nsw.gov.au/ waste/cds-collection-point-operator.htm.

Holiday Traffic To Ease With NorthConnex
As the weather becomes warmer, residents start planning trips up north for vacation; and the NSW Government is helping make that trip easier and faster for everyone in the Hills area.

NorthConnex will ease congestion along Pennant Hills Road heading north to Newcastle. These twin tunnels will eliminate 21 sets of traffic lights, take 5,000 trucks off the road, and will save approximately 15 minutes on your trip.

Once completed in 2019, you will experience ZERO traffic lights from Melbourne to Newcastle using the NorthConnex tunnel which links from the M1 Pacific Highway to the M2.
