Registration to enter the 2016 Waste 2 Art Competition for Primary School students closes this Friday, 14 October 2016 at 11:59pm, Organised by the Hawkesbury City Council.

Hawkesbury City Council’s 'Waste 2 Art' Competition focuses on the REUSE part of the 3Rs of the waste hierarchy, (reuse, reduce, recycle) to specifically show how students can give waste a new purpose by transforming it into a creative piece of artwork. Through 'Waste 2 Art', Council hopes to encourage students to reduce, reuse and recycle waste.

Students are invited to create either 2D or 3D artworks, which must be made entirely of used/recycled materials. The creative works will be exhibited throughout National Recycling Week from 7 – 13 November at the Deerubbin Centre, Windsor with a presentation of prizes at an opening ceremony.

Students will be judged as per Stages 1, 2 & 3 (i.e. 1 = K to 2, 2 = 3 to 4, or 3 = 5 to 6) and four prizes will be awarded per stage:

 1st prize – $200 gift voucher for art supplies
 2nd Prize – $100 gift voucher for art supplies
