Community seminar to provide valuable skills, knowledge and networking opportunity for local community groups

The Hills Shire Council will hold its annual community seminar on Thursday 25 August. The seminar is a one-day event connecting and supporting communities across The Hills Shire. The event provides opportunities for local organisations to discuss communities of interests, community planning, community governance, improving community well-being and social services, strengthening collaboration and partnerships.

This year’s event will focus on the key areas of ‘Collaboration’, ‘Change’ and ‘Action’, with presentations, panel discussions and workshop sessions centred on creating positive social change within communities, by turning strategy into action.

This year’s key note speakers and presenters are drawn from a broad cross-section of the community sector, bringing with them a combined knowledge base covering everything from youth engagement, inter-generational collaboration and mental health prevention to community engagement through creative arts and social impact assessment.

The community seminar is designed to equip local community organisations with the tools to strengthen community engagement, local networks, and organisational operations for the benefit of The Hills community. If you have any questions regarding this event please contact the Hills Shire Council Communities Team on 9843 0237. We look forward to seeing you at our 2016 event.
