Celebrate New Year’s Eve in The Hills

Mayor of the Hills Shire, Councillor Yvonne Keane, has revealed that for the first time ever, residents of The Hills will be able to celebrate New Year’s Eve without having to leave the Shire.

Mayor Keane also announced music legend Ian Moss as the headlining act for the inaugural New Year’s Eve celebrations.

“It gives me enormous pleasure to create something new that will add such value for residents, particularly families, who have been begging for New Year’s Eve celebrations close to home,” Mayor Keane said.

“Mums, dads and kids feel it’s no longer an option to go to the CBD, wait in long transport queues and cram into crowded public spaces for a glimpse of the fireworks.

“This is THE celebration we have all been waiting for – and I am so proud that it’s finally about to happen.”

Mayor Keane, who has been campaigning for a stellar New Years Eve family event at Bella Vista Farm since 2011, said the market was tested for the event at the 2016 New Year’s Eve Sky Show on Castle Hill Main Street, where thousands of people gathered to see in the New Year together locally.

“This year, we can all join together to welcome in the New Year at everyone’s favourite place to celebrate – Bella Vista Farm,” Mayor Keane said.

“We have an incredible line-up of entertainment on offer with performances from the gorgeous and talented Lara Parker-Kent to Splash Dance, the One Hit Wonders and of course our headliner, the wonderful and very talented Ian Moss,” she said.

“Plus all the trimmings you would expect on New Year’s Eve with super fun for families including rides, food trucks and best of all – a fabulous fireworks display.”

“I’m so excited that families in The Hills Shire will finally be able to enjoy stellar NYE celebrations, complete with everyone’s favourite, an epic fireworks display, right on our own doorstep. Happy New Year everyone!”
