ART IN THE HILLS 2016

Art in the Hills celebrates its 46th anniversary this year!

More than 100 different artists will be exhibiting their work at Art in the Hills this weekend. The exhibition features a selection of established and emerging artistsfrom all around Australia. Art in the Hills is run by the P&F at Oakhill College, Castle Hill. It is the longest running art show in the Hills district.

This year a select group of artists will compete for the 6th Acquisitive Art Prize, with entries focusing upon the theme “Change”. The prize winner will receive a cheque for $7 000. Art Co-ordinator, Anne Micallef says “It’s very exciting to see the high calibre of the art works being submitted. I think visitors will appreciate the diversity. There’s something for everyone!”

Well-known artists that are exhibiting include Joseph Rolella, James Friebergand and sculptor Linda Klarfeld. Artists from the Sydney area include Dana Dion and Lara Scolari. The inaugural Art Prize winner, Graham Marchant is also returning this year.

We are also pleased to welcome back Archibald Finalist, Guy Morgan.

The Opening Gala kicks off on Friday the 24th of March at 7.00pm, with drinks, nibbles and live music. Patrons attending the gala will have the first chance to view and buy original artworks on exhibition as well as meet the artists and hear the winner of the Art Prize announced.

Art in the Hills continues from 10am-5pm on Saturday 25th and from 10am–4pm Sunday 26 th March at Oakhill College, Castle Hill. You will be able to enjoy the café, music and BBQ that will running over the weekend.
