Arcadian Artists Trail 2017

Where do artists get their inspiration and what drives them to create? A sneak peek into the lives of 50 Artists will be available on the 11th- 12th of November when 8 rural studios will open their doors and display the talents of these wonderful artisans. All are remarkable individuals whose enthusiasm and passion have set the Arcadian Artists apart for many years. Among them are glass artists, jewellers, painters, sculptors, felt artists, printmakers, wire sculptors and textile artists.

The rural properties that constitute the trail are in Dural, Galston, Arcadia, Fiddletown and Berrilee on the edge of Sydney, and are a delight to investigate. Studios vary in their approach and expression, and all are well worth a visit. Artists at various venues will demonstrate how their particular talents are worked, and there is plenty of time for visitors to ask questions and talk with the creators.

Due to popular demand, food and beverages will be plentiful this year. We have 5 venues with coffee carts and 3 with substantial lunch refreshments. Some property owners are even encouraging their visitors to bring a picnic lunch and blanket to use on their lawns. Bring your glass of bubbly and rest while you take in the delights of the country and purchase unique and quality artworks.

Adding to the variety of talent this year is Warrah, a local organisation that offers social therapy for adults with intellectual disability or autism. They will exhibit alongside other able-bodied artists and bring a sense of inclusiveness to our community program.

The Arcadian Artist Trail is held on November 11–12, between 9am-5pm. The event is free to all visitors. The website www.arcadianartists. com.au includes a map of this year’s trail, and information about all the artists involved. The Committee would like to thank Bendigo Bank for their ongoing support of this event.
