A spirited production of the musical Annie Jr will be one of the first performances at the new Pioneer Theatre in Castle Hill in November.

It’s an exciting moment for the founder of the newly formed SpotOn Productions, Katrina Gooding who will be staging the show.

“I used to perform at the Hills Centre so I have been waiting for this new venue to open so that I can produce and give back to a community I learnt in,” she said.

Gooding grew up in the Hills and has a wealth of stage experience.

She was co-owner and producer of Packemin Productions before founding SpotOn Productions and before that performed with both Cockatours Productions and SYMT (Sydney Youth Musical Theatre). She also taught at Tammy Worth Academy where she first found her passion for singing and dancing as a student.

She is “so excited” about the show and the new venue.

“Children go to dance classes and music classes to hone their skills, this is an opportunity to put it all together and perform on stage,” she said.

“It’s a really good learning ground.”

Annie Jr will be on at the Pioneer Theatre in Castle Hill from November 8 to November 11. Auditions have just opened for the show.

“I am searching for approximately 80 talented male and female children between the ages of 8 – 18yrs inclusive who want to perform in a fun-loving musical.” Auditions will be on Saturday, August 18 and Sunday, August 19.

Rehearsals begin on Saturday, September 1 in Castle Hill.
